Intercom for an apartment building

An intercom is the building's doorbell: from the street or the stairwell you see or hear who came, and you can open the door. An intercom for one flat can be a single panel. An intercom for an apartment building is shared equipment, fitted with the manager. NextTek installs intercoms with and without a camera, including ones that ring your phone. That is the same idea as our own intercom system: the call arrives whether or not you are home.

What people are actually looking for

The old intercom is silent, the handset is yellow plastic, and nobody hears the door if you are at the shop.

Intercom with a camera

You see a face, not only a voice saying it is a delivery. The camera has to be at the door, not only in a pretty app.

Call to your phone

An install that rings your phone means you can open the door from work. A button at home remains for when the phone is dead.

In place of the old panel

The cable in the shaft is often already there. We replace the panel and the flat unit, not dig a new riser.

Keep a button in the flat

A call to the phone is an extra path. The handset or the monitor stays for when the phone is in a bag.

Say when the cable is dead

If the shaft has no signal, we say so before the work. Promising tomorrow is not possible then.

Ask the building about the panel

The street-door panel is common property. One flat's monitor can often be replaced without a meeting.

One flat and the whole building

One flat's intercom can be replaced faster. A whole building's intercom is a meeting, a manager, and shared money.

Intercom for a flat

If the riser already rings, we often replace only the flat monitor. If the cable is dead, we say so before promising tomorrow.

Intercom for an apartment building

A panel at the street door, the number of flats, and who pays. NextTek can fit a system that also rings a resident's phone. The building decides on common property.

A replacement or a new cable

Most older buildings already have a wired intercom. We measure whether the pair still rings before anything else.

Existing cable

If the pair is good, we replace the ends. For residents that is a shorter day than a new riser.

New building

The design includes a place for the panel and power. We do not stick a camera on afterwards with tape.

Estimate intercom costs

The calculator shows a rough cost. We prepare an exact quote after we see the site. Ranges on this page are not a formal offer.

Frequently asked questions

What is an intercom?
A device that rings the flat from the street and opens the door. With a camera you see the visitor. Without one you only hear them.
Can the call reach my phone?
Yes, if the system supports it. NextTek does this in our own intercom too: the call arrives while you are out, and you can open the door from the phone.
Can one flat fit its own intercom?
The flat monitor, yes, if the riser is usable. The street panel is the building's, because the door is common property. We do not promise the street side without the manager.
What does intercom installation cost?
A single flat monitor is often a few hundred euro with labour, if the cable is alive. A panel for the whole stairwell is a separate quote by the number of flats. We write the sum after a visit, not in a comment.
What if the internet drops?
A wired intercom between the panel and the flat can keep ringing. The call to a phone outside the building stops until the internet is back.
Does this connect to the gate?
On a house, yes: a call from the gate and opening the gate are one job. Apartment buildings rarely have that gate. The stairwell door is the point. The gate motor is on the gate automation page.

Is the old intercom silent?

Tell us if it is one flat or the whole stairwell, and how many flats are on the panel.
