Alarm and sensors for the home

A home alarm is not only a siren. It is a motion sensor in the hall, a door contact, and a water leak sensor under the sink. You hear about it on your phone, not from a neighbour. NextTek builds alarm systems for houses and flats. Cameras go only where they actually help, not in every corner.

A home entrance that sensors can watch

Sensors that solve a real case

You do not need a kit labelled for the whole house. Put a sensor where you already had a problem.

Motion sensor

In the hall and by the entrance it notices a person. In the living room a presence sensor is better, so the light does not drop while you sit.

Water leak sensor

Under the sink, by the washing machine, and by the boiler. It can shut the water or at least message you before it reaches the neighbour.

Alarm systems

Door, window, and motion in one alert. A siren at home plus a message to you, not only a sticker on the door.

Fit a smoke detector

Smoke in the bedroom and the hall comes first. We do not sell a shop kit. NextTek connects the sensor to the house.

Warn about a water leak

A sensor under the sink tells you while the water has not reached the neighbour. It does not replace a plumber.

It does not call the police

The alarm tells you. It does not call the police. What happens next is your decision, once you see what happened.

A flat and a house are not the same job

In a flat the point is the door, a leak, and a siren that does not wake the whole stairwell for nothing. A house adds the gate, the yard, and the shed.

Flat

A door contact, one motion sensor, and a leak sensor in the kitchen or bathroom. A camera in the stairwell is the building's decision, not one flat's.

House

Perimeter, gate, and rooms. A motion sensor in the yard often lies because of a cat or branches. We tune that instead of leaving it as is.

A wireless kit or cables

In an existing flat we almost always start with wireless sensors. In a new build, cables can go into the wall while it is still open.

A home you already live in

Battery sensors and a hub by the router. Drilling is a few mounts, not a new electrical install.

Renovation or new build

If the walls are open, we leave a cable for the siren and a place for the hub. Sensors can still be wireless.

Estimate alarm costs

The calculator shows a rough cost. We prepare an exact quote after we see the site. Ranges on this page are not a formal offer.

Frequently asked questions

Does the alarm call the police?
Not by itself. You get a message and decide whether to call. A monitoring station is only connected if you actually want that contract.
Does a motion sensor react to a cat?
A cheap one, yes. A proper sensor can ignore a low height. In a home with a dog we test that on site.
Where should a leak sensor go?
Under the place water has already been: the trap, the washing-machine hose, the boiler tray. One sensor in the middle of the kitchen usually notices too late.
Do sensors work without internet?
The siren at home can still sound without internet. The phone message leaves only when the link is back.
How long does the battery last?
Motion and door sensors usually last a year or two. A leak sensor should be checked more often, because it sits in damp.
Do I need cameras?
Not always. In the stairwell and the yard a camera helps you see who called. Inside a flat, sensors are often enough, and there are fewer privacy questions.

What do you want to hear about first?

Tell us if it is a leak, the door, or the yard. We will suggest sensors, not the biggest kit.
